Trillium

This is what I came up with during my quest yesterday to take pictures of spring -- fearing many of the flowers won't survive the freezing temps forecast for this weekend. This is a favorite wildflower of mine. Because it takes a trillium plant up to 15 years to flower, some states have passed laws making the harvesting of this flower illegal. You can find them in shady, moist areas of the forest.
