Born to reign in us forever

Born thy people to deliver, born a child and yet a King,
born to reign in us forever, now thy gracious kingdom bring.
By thine own eternal spirit rule in all our hearts alone;
by thine all sufficient merit, raise us to thy glorious throne.

--Charles Wesley (1707-1788), English clergyman, poet, and hymn writer

Above: Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church in Johnson City, TN. What a beautiful and majestic church! The church owes its existence to the early Methodist circuit riders, like William Munsey (1833-1877), who brought the gospel to pioneer families on the frontier. When the church outgrew its original structure, the present church was constructed (1956). Its distinctive steeple towers over downtown Johnson City. The view above was taken from the balcony, and shows the height and scale of the sanctuary -- which is beautifully decorated for Christmas.

  1. Does downtown Johnson City have any decorations up this year, like they did in the past? If so, could you do a shot?
