Visual Music

For the last year, Kingsport, TN residents and visitors have been treated to a Sculpture Walk featuring eleven sculptures displayed in the downtown area. The above work, found at the intersection of Broad and New Streets, is entitled Yo Yo's Muse. It is described by artist Mike Roig of Carrboro, NC as 'visual music.' This metal sculpture floats, turns and spins, put in motion by the wind. People liked it so well, that enough money was raised to purchase it -- and now Yo Yo's Muse will be a permanent fixture in downtown Kingsport. Click here to visit the artist's website and see his other amazing sculptures. For more information about the sculpture walk click here, here and here.

Sculpture and painting have the effect of teaching us manners and abolishing hurry.
