smiles all around

Colors are the smiles of nature.--Leigh Hunt (1784-1859) English author

Here is the view of Grandfather Mountain from Flat Rock (Blue Ridge Parkway, Mile 308), taken on Saturay. While we aren't at peak yet, there are patches of brilliant color all around Grandfather Mountain. Flat Rock is an easy hike (0.7 miles roundtrip) to a large outcropping of rock with great views to the west and north.
