If there wasn't anything to find out, it would be dull. Even trying to find out and not finding out is just as interesting as trying to find out and finding out; and I don't know but more so.

ReplyDeleteCan you recommend a good one-night backpacking trip, dog-friendly, for some fit-but-out-of-hiking-shape people? We're looking for something easy and pretty for a fall weekend (this weekend). Any ideas? Thanks!!
I'm sorry for my late response. I'm not much of a backpacker, so I emailed a friend to get his opinion and he's been out of town. Almost all the hikes on here are within three or four miles round trip - which makes me a day-hiker (or really a half-day hiker). :) I guess I'm too late now -- hope you had a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt was so cold and rainy we decided to clean out the basement...not nearly as rewarding as an overnighter would have been, but more necessary. Thanks for the response anyway, I really appreciate it. And I loved seeing the Unaka Mountain mixed-season shot and then driving to work just as the frost faded this morning...I can't believe how fast October's going this year!
ReplyDeleteIf you decide to reschedule your trip - how about the hike from Carver's Gap to Yellow Mt Gap along the AT - you can stay at the "barn" at the gap, or push on to any of a number of great camping spots near Little Hump or Hump Mt.
