  1. Hey Mark, I was just up on the Roan this morning. Thoreau had it right, 'a blessing for the whole day'. I'm blessed to be just a couple of miles from the Roan and able to get up there for the sunrises and sunsets. The sunrise this morning was so peaceful. My favorite spot is just past the top of Jane's Bald. There's a wonderful rock outcropping just of the trail facing South. To watch the start of a new day from there is like nothing I've ever experienced before.

Hope to see you up there some day.

  3. Chuck, you are indeed blessed! Every time I've headed up the mountain for a sunrise shot, it's clear at home, and raining at Carver's Gap. One of these days! Thanks for visiting Mike, hope you make it back to the mountains soon!
