Sunsets are so beautiful that they almost seem as if we were looking through the gates of Heaven.
--Sir John Lubbock (1834-1913) English banker, biologist, archaeologist and politician
Open wide, you gates. Open up, you age-old doors. Then the King of glory will come in. Who is the King of glory? The Lord, who is strong and mighty. The Lord, who is mighty in battle. Open wide, you gates. Open wide, you age-old doors. Then the King of glory will come in. Who is he, this King of glory? The LORD who rules over all. He is the King of glory.--Psalm 24:7-10 (NIRV)

Cool shot with lots of nice layers Mark.
ReplyDeleteYou must have memorized Bartlett's, you post so many wonderful quotes appropriate to the nice images you capture.
When my brother was hiking the AT from Georgia to Maine in 1974, my mother and I joined him outside of Erwin, Tennessee, for two days. This was one of the great hikes of my life: dwarf crested iris, fields of pink lady slippers, flame azalea, mountain laurel, etc., etc. When we came out on Beauty Spot, it was covered in blooming Rhododendron, and there were views like this one.
ReplyDeleteThat was almost four decades ago, but it seems like yesterday.
