Be still and know...

On the rim of the Yosemite I once heard a man say: "How was this tremendous old rocky gorge formed?" "Oh, stop your science," said another of the party. "Hush! stand still and behold the glory of God!"
--John Muir (1838-1914), Naturalist and Conservationist

I love this quote from Muir, who is considered "The Father of our National Parks." The quote above reminds me of Psalm 46 which advises us, in times of trouble and tumult, to be still and know that He is God -- and that He is with us.

  1. just found our site from surfing the blog world! LOVE LOVE LOVE this post! I don't know of anyone that couldn't benefit from being still and listing to His voice. Love your pics too!

I was looking at the sunset section... beautiful! We live in the upstate of SC and have BEAUTIFUL sunsets from our deck and when we have been at the lake.

I'll be back to check out your work! AND... our last name is muir.... too cool! My husband has not researched, so we don't know if there are any ties to the naturalist or not.
