Few people know how to take a walk. The qualifications are endurance, plain clothes, old shoes, an eye for nature, good humor, vast curiosity, good speech, good silence and nothing too much.
--Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882) American Poet, Lecturer and Essayist

  1. I was born & raised in TN/VA, growing up near the Trail, and moved away as a young adult. FACT: The mountains will call you back for the rest of your life and I am almost 70 now.
I made sure my children were properly introduced to the Appalachians and taught how to pronounce it !!!!
