slow climb

We have not wings we cannot soar;
but, we have feet to scale and climb,
by slow degrees, by more and more,
the cloudy summits of our time.
--Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882) American Poet.

Above: This was taken a couple of years back. One of my favorite springtime hikes. And it's short. I drive up Unaka Mountain Road from Indian Ridge Gap (outside of Erwin, TN) until where the AT crosses over the road and park there. And then hike up to the Beauty Spot. Always so green with lots of flowers.
