Rhododendron

I'm excited to see that my rhododendron are getting ready to put on a show. It's nice to know the big April freeze didn't harm them. You'll probably be seeing a lot of rhododendron on this blog in the coming months. If there was an official flower of Appalachia, this would have to be it (with a close second being mountain laurel).

  1. I want to go up to Roan Mountain when the Rhododendron are blooming. I hear it is really a beautiful thing. What do you think?

  2. The Roan Mountain Rhododendron Festival this year is June 23-24th. That should be about the peak time to visit. It's an amazing sight! Here's the link...
