Downtown Kingsport is hip and happenin'. What an ingenious idea to promote the arts and at the same time encourage folks to explore the downtown shopping area. The "Sculpture Walk" features eleven distinctive and diverse works by different artists from around the nation. Click here for an online tour and here and here for more information. Kingsport photographer Earl Carter first clued me in to the existence of this exhibit with this humorous blog post. The two photos here are of the sculptures "Hello...Goodbye" and "3 ton 1 ton" -- both are located in front of the old Kingsport train station on the corner of Main Street and Broad Street. The other nine are conveniently within walking distance. The sculpture exhibit continues through April 2008.
