Casting a spell...

Let there be nothing within thee that is not very beautiful and very gentle, and there will be nothing without thee that is not beautiful and softened by the spell of thy presence.
--James Allen (1864-1912)

These early bloomers are called "Spring Beauties" -- they're one of the first wildflowers to bloom each spring. I like the idea, suggested by the quote above, that our gentleness can be and is often reflected in the world. But I've also found that nature casts her own spell -- softening the edges, calming the senses, and putting things in perspective.
