Here's a fun and interesting place to visit in western North Carolina. The Banner Elk Winery was begun in 2006, situated on a 25-year old blueberry farm. It's the first commercial winery in the High Country of North Carolina -- and has quickly gained a reputation for producing fine wines. The locally grown grapes produce wines "that reflect the unique characteristics of the Appalachian Mountains." Stop in for a tour and wine tasting. Click here for directions and more information.
Making good wine is a skill. Fine wine is an art.
