And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us.

Today we celebrate the Incarnation: God became man. We ponder the mystery of a baby lying in a manger - fully human, yet fully God. God made himself nothing. Becoming as we are. And revealed his love for us in weakness. In vulnerability. Christmas honors this miraculous event. But the Incarnation is not limited to one day or to one life lived two-thousand years ago. We today are called to participate in the Incarnation. To allow Christ to reveal himself in our flesh. Through our weakness and vulnerability. Every time we love another, it is Christmas. God's love is embodied. It is enfleshed. God's love is made real.

God loves the world through us, you and me.
--Mother Teresa of Calcutta (1910-1997)
