Sugar Hollow Retreat

Sugar Hollow Retreat is tucked into the Appalachian wilderness of Carter County, Tennessee, convenient to many outdoor recreational opportunities offered by the Watauga Lake, the Elk River, the Appalachian Trail and the mountains and ski slopes of North Carolina. It sits on 300 beautiful acres with 9 miles of hiking trails and a breathtaking panoramic view of the Watauga Lake. It's comprised of the lodge (right), a conference center, ampitheater, and four elegant, but rustic cottages that are available for rent. It would be the perfect place for business or corporate retreats, family reunions, weddings, youth groups and family vacations. They've got a terrific website with lots of beautiful photos (not mine!) and a very helpful local attractions links page that is a great resource for those visiting the area.

  1. I've stayed in the Lodge at Sugar Hollow and it is beautiful, but if you're looking for more of a cabin away from other people, I've found these folks helpful Watauga Lake Cabins.

  2. I've stayed at Sugar Hollow many times, it's beautiful, and very secluded, lots of deer and turkey roaming the property. I've stayed in the lodge and in 3 of their 4 cabins and loved it every time. Marty and Jim are great people and have customer service down to perfection. I love walking the trails and relaxing on the deck overlooking the lake and going to Shirley's restaurant is a must. I would recommend Sugar Hollow to anyone who wants to get away to a beautiful place tucked away in the mountains and just relax and enjoy life at it's best.
